Organiser(s) & Staff
Participation
By invitation only.
Overview:
The GOOS Ocean Observing Co-Design Meeting will convene the Co-Design team, Exemplar leads, partners, and invited collaborators for a focused one-day working session. The meeting will support the advancement of the Programme and Exemplar portfolio by identifying outreach needs, clarifying support requirements, and strengthening alignment for the next steps across Exemplars, regions and with the Co-Design Programme key stakeholders, GOOS; WMO and the Ocean Decade.
The morning session will concentrate on Exemplar-driven discussions, gathering concrete next steps, support needs, and opportunities for collaboration. This includes sharpening outreach strategies, identifying priority gaps, and sharing lessons across case areas.
In the afternoon, building on the presentation of the recently completed Co-Design Vision for Policymakers Paper, the session will bring together representatives from GOOS, WMO, and the Ocean Decade for a discussion on how the programme’s lessons resonate across partner mandates and where they can be operationalized through existing frameworks, initiatives, and partnerships. The intent is to move from reflection to action—articulating a shared understanding and clarifying opportunities for uptake of the lessons and recommendations emerging from the implementation of Co-Design.
Objectives:
-
Bring together the Co-Design team, partners and key stakeholders to explore opportunities for expanding regional collaboration and outline concrete actions to advance implementation and coordination across regions.
-
Discuss promotion and outreach activities to increase visibility of Co-Design activities and co-design concept as underlying principle as future for increased support of society's need for ocean information.
-
Discuss how Co-Design lessons resonate across partner mandates and identify opportunities to operationalize and support their uptake.
-
Clarify who can support what, and through which mechanisms (institutional, programmatic, financial, political) to advance the programmes co-design work.
