I’m Md.Tawhidur Rahaman working at WaterAid Bangladesh as a Programme Officer-Engineer. I’ve earned a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Postgraduate Diploma in Disaster Management and currently doing my master's research work on coastal modeling at Department of Water Resources Engineering, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
Before joining WaterAid Bangladesh, I’ve worked with International Water Association (IWA) as a Programme Assistant in the following projects “Consensus Building and Development of Action Plans for Joint Bangladesh-India Sundarban Management” and Sustainable Livelihoods for Hilsa-dependent Communities across India Bangladesh Riverscapes. Additionally, I’ve experienced working with World-Bank South Asian Water Initiative (SAWI) Projects " Brahmaputra River Basin Modeling ".
My research interest in Coastal modeling, hydrodynamic modelling, hydrological modelling, disaster risk assessment,Wastewater Treatment, Solid Waste Management, Mathematical Modeling in water resources, Hydraulic and Morphological modeling, Water Resources Management, Trans boundary water Issues/Hydro Diplomacy, remote sensing, geographic information system (GIS) and water quality monitoring and modeling.
My key technical expertise are MatLab,R, HEC-RAS 1D/2D,ARC/GIS-10.1,ILWIS, AutoCAD(2D), MS Word, MS Excel (VBA,Macro),MS PowerPoint, Microsoft VISIO, Delft 3D (Morph, Flow, Wave, SWAN), Open Earth tools-Delft Dashboard; Muppet ,WRPLOT ( Wind and Wave Rose ), SMS Packages (SRH-2D,ADCIRC) and GeoSWMM.
