Activities
- Regularly liaise with project leader to identify and develop management plan for the project and team activities relative to proposed project budget
- Manage project activities in the field and project budget in collaboration with project leader and finance consultant
- Oversee team operations, including data collection and uploading and quality-check of data
- Identify opportunities and coordinate trainings and capacity building for team members as additional effort to support program achievement in cooperation with project leader
- Stakeholder liaison at the field site (including fishermen), at the regional level, and at national level stakeholders
- Contribute to narrative and financial report for interim and final report
- Oversee the monitoring elasmobranch landings according to guidelines set forth by the Mobula Project (6 days per week) – not mandatory but should take part when necessary
- Upload daily data and photos to the assigned google drive and hard drive for quality checking by the project leader
- Attend research meetings or other stakeholders meeting related to elasmobranch policy, updates, and collaborations
- Undertake interviews/conversations with the local community to obtain information on fishing practices, according to the Mobula Project guidelines
- Prepare, organise, and deliver education outreach activities in local schools and universities
- Maintain excellent communication with team members and the project leader to ensure a good working atmosphere and transfer of information obtained through the project activities
- Participating in overnight fishing trips to satellite tag mobulid rays when needed
- Maintain a good working knowledge of shark and ray identification
- Participate, prepare and deliver talks in workshops, conferences, and/ or symposiums, when required by the project
