Created and tested a Special Grow out Diet Formula for Pink Shrimp Pls and juveniles, which is produced in collaboration with Zeigler Bros, Inc. at a commercial scale.

Created a Project to develop a local species Shrimp Hatchery Center and Farm for the live bait and food market in the United States.
Tested at a pilot basis the processes of Spawning and Grow out of the Gulf white shrimp Litopenaeus setiferus.
Obtained the Florida Aquaculture Certificate for the production and commercialization of local shrimp species.
Designed and installed the technology of a Shrimp Hatchery in Panacea, Florida obtaining the complete cycle of maturation, spawning and larval nursery at commercial scale of three native species, pink shrimp L. duorarum, white shrimp L. setiferus, and brown shrimp L. aztecus.
Developed a closed system of water recirculation.
Signed Cooperative Agreements with Waddell Mariculture in South Carolina and University of Mexico UNAM among others.
Developed a shrimp post-larvae (PL) transportation system in special tanks with high percentage of PL survival.
Produced and transported PLs for the food market in Texas.
Installed the technology of a Farm in Homestead, Florida that produces shrimp for the live-bait market that supplies the Florida Keys and other sales points on the east and west South Florida.
Collaborated on the writing and publication of the book “Shrimp: The Endless Quest for Pink Gold” Chapter 5, with pictures and technical explanation about the US Native Shrimp Life Cycle.

Shrimp Culture Specialist
Founded the three most important centers of Shrimp Culture in Cuba: Santa Cruz del Sur, Manzanillo and Tunas de Zaza Cuba.
Planned and installed the technology needed for the massive production of shrimp on those centers.
Implemented new techniques in order to make the process of maturation, copulation, spawning and larvae farming in record time.
Increased massive production of shrimp in Cuba, which generated profits of millions of dollars.
Participated in the Stock and Release Program along the Southern Coast of Cuba that increased local wild shrimp population.
Had the ability to take right decisions if there were shrimp illnesses, biotic or abiotic problems during the culture.
Trained personnel from Cuba as well as specialists from Brazil, Ecuador and Mexico on how to implement shrimp culture successfully.
Did a lot of scientific research in order to optimize the massive production of shrimp.
Received award for the highest level of shrimp production from the Ministry of Cuban Fishing Industry.
Was able to achieve with a team of experts the closing of the reproductive culture cycle of P. schmitti on a commercial scale for the first time in Cuba with the collection and stocking of post larvae of the F1 generation. Article “Maturation and Reproduction of Pond-Reared P. schmitti” published on the Journal of the World Aquaculture Society, (26):183-187 June 1995.
