Director of Marine Ecological Solutions Ltd. Based in North Wales we are a team of scientific divers and qualified and experienced marine ecologists. We provide marine biologists to work above and below water throughout the world, with specific knowledge of the UK, Indo-Pacific and Red Sea. Our team can carry out all planning stages of a diving or video survey and provide a professional report or simply provide the scientific personnel to support your existing research. Surveys we undertake can describe a basic habitat or provide a detailed overview of the existing flora and fauna, produce the relevant marine aspects of an appropriate assessment, or provide advice to clients regarding any marine species and habitats of special conservation concern (such as Annex 1 features and conservation objectives of a Special Area of Conservation or those listed on UK marine Biodiversity Action Plans). Using Geographical Information System (GIS) we will overlay your existing data onto maps or aerial photos providing an effective way to analyse and represent information in a spatial format. Skills
Professional scientific diving and dive operations management Benthic survey (both subtidal and intertidal), JNCC Marine Habitat Classification system (biotoping), MNCR Phase 1 and 2 intertidal and subtidal survey, British and Indo-Pacific (including Red Sea) macroflora and faunal identification, Underwater digital photography, underwater video analysis, Research, literature reviews and report writing Experimental and Statistical design and analysis. Licensed with a working knowledge of Mapinfo and ArcGIS. General high IT literacy - experienced in univariate/multivariate statistical programmes, multiple word processing and database packages. Working with and co-ordinating both professionals and marine volunteers.
