The lab is working at the interfaces of ecology, biogeochemistry, analytical chemistry and atmospheric chemistry. We strongly believe that interdisciplinarity is currently needed to tackle current complex environmental issues. Our overall research objective is to understand how pollutants and nutrients move in the environment, interact with each other, and what are their effects on the functioning of ecosystems. Our main current research interests for the coming years are: Bioaccessibility of inorganic contaminants in the gastrointestinal system and role of the microbiome// Impact of climate change on the mobility of inorganic contaminants in the Arctic and temperate zone// Biogeochemistry of thiols in freshwaters// Environmental contamination in Africa// Factors affecting mercury methylation// Use of sulfur isotopes as tracers in freshwaters// Trophic transfer of lanthanides.
