Activities
Am doing my doctoral studies on "Air-Sea Interactions Over Southwestern Continental Shelf of India" focusing the analysis of surface heat fluxes and its influence on upper ocean dynamics and air-sea interface. Am very much interested in studying the increasing intensity of tropical cyclones in this global warming scenario. I have participated in research cruise (SN110) with an objective to study physical processes responsible for the cooling in Bay of Bengal region of North Indian Ocean conducted from 17-December-2016 to 03-January-2017 onboard O.R.V Sagar Nidhi. During this time I had training in the operation and deploying of the underway CTD, familiarized in operating radiometer, vertical mixing profiler-250, Inherant optical profiler and atmospheric instruments onboard. I am very much interested in observations and analysis of data. I have also carried my dissertation work using the data collected from this cruise. As part of my work as a project assistant I have got experience in deployment and retrieval of wave rider buoy, ADCP for wave and current analysis and have experience in handling large sets of observed, re-analysis and numerical data, processing, plotting and interpreting the results using MATLAB and ferret. I have also participated in Oceanographic research cruise in ORV Sagar Kanya (29 days) in Arabian Sea during October-November 2019. In which I honed my skills in operating shipboard CTD and suspended particle analyser (LISST-200X).
