My Objectives
Understanding and monitoring of the Moroccan Atlantic and Mediterranian Costs in other to monitor the Mixed Layer depth (MLD), in order to determine the zones influenced by Moroccan coastal upwelling waters and their interaction with the atmosphere through the air-sea exchange processes, and climate change.
In my work, we are using:
- In situ CTD, ADCP, LADCP, Courantmétre, tide, oceanographic buoy data from the National Institute for Fisheries Research Casablanca (INRH).
- Model data from Mercator model to estimate the MLD in the Moroccan Costs.
- Satellite data of MODIS-Aqua, and ASCAT from NOAA database for the spatial distribution of SST and winds, to detect the activity of the coastal upwelling. Moreover, we used monthly mean satellite observations for the mass concentration of chlorophyll-a in sea water from OCEANCOLOUR and the seawater velocity are from marine environment monitoring service Copernicus.
