Activities
My teaching covers key topics including aquaculture production systems, fish and shellfish breeding, population and molecular genetics, genomics, and biotechnology applications in aquatic organisms. I emphasize the use of modern molecular and biotechnological tools in aquaculture research, as well as principles of sustainable aquaculture and aquatic resource management. Through lectures, laboratory sessions, and supervision of student research projects, I aim to develop students’ analytical skills, experimental design capacity, and practical competencies required for research and professional practice in aquaculture and marine biotechnology.
Sea regions of study
Mediterranean Sea - Western Basin
North Atlantic Ocean
Strait of Gibraltar
Alboran Sea
Skills
I possess strong expertise in aquaculture, marine biotechnology, and genetics, with advanced skills in the application of molecular and biotechnological techniques to aquatic organisms. My competencies include experimental design, genetic and genomic analysis, molecular marker applications, and the use of biotechnology tools especially for studying marine microalgae, population structure, and genetic improvement in aquatic species.
Comment(s)
I have extensive experience in laboratory techniques, data analysis, and interdisciplinary research integrating molecular biology with aquaculture production and sustainability. In addition, I demonstrate strong abilities in scientific communication, research supervision, project development, and collaboration within multidisciplinary research environments.
