Biological Oceanography, Marine Ecology
Activities
My career
has primarily focused on scientific research related to environmental impacts, both natural and anthropogenic, and their effects on species diversity and distribution. Specifically, I've been focused on utilizing advanced microscopy techniques that are required to make the detailed
and complicated morphological assessment of species needed to accurately assess species diversity. My projects have included harmful algal blooms, mesophotic and deep-sea corals, and reef/bottom fish of commercial relevance. All of my work has
been underscored by a desire to understand and conserve the delicate balance of
the marine ecosystem.
