Activities
I am currently engaged in an ongoing thesis project that focuses on utilizing ROMS (Regional Ocean Modeling System) to investigate the response of physical-biogeochemical parameters during the upwelling phenomenon in the Banggai waters. This research aims to deepen our understanding of the complex interactions between physical and biogeochemical processes. This research is an integral part of the "Banggai Upwelling Dynamic Ecosystem Experiment" expedition output, which took place in 2022 aboard the Baruna Jaya VIII cruise.
Furthermore, in my role as a tsunami modeler at PT Virama Karya, I am actively involved in conducting tsunami simulations for various locations in the west of Indonesia. I work with input parameters such as earthquake parameters, bathymetry, and topography to simulate the propagation of tsunamis accurately. By utilizing COMCOT, I measure crucial parameters such as maximum height, affected areas, and arrival times of tsunamis. These simulations play a vital role in understanding the potential impact of tsunamis in the region, facilitating effective disaster management and mitigation efforts. These results serve as essential references for policy development related to tsunami disaster management. By collaborating with the Indonesian Disaster Management Agency, my institution actively contributes to the implementation of effective disaster management and mitigation strategies.
