Fisheries Engineer from the University of Magdalena (Colombia), with Master studies (M.Sc.) in Fisheries at the University of Concepcion (Chile) and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Natural Sciences at the University of Bremen/Center for Tropical Marine Ecology (ZMT). Areas of research include: Fisheries Acoustics (echo sounders, multibeam sonar, net sounder), behavior of fish schools using acoustic equipment, Marine Protected Areas, Marine Ecology, Fisheries Oceanography, Dynamics of fish stocks. With work experience in fisheries research institutes in Chile, fisheries management institutes in Colombia and professor of Fisheries Oceanography, Population Dynamics, Fisheries Economy, Geostatistics, Ecosystem approach to Fisheries Management and Fish Biology. Member of international networks of fisheries research.
