Patricia is a dedicated marine scientist with over 15 years of experience in the field of marine science, collecting and managing data. With a master’s degree in marine biology, Patricia has developed deep expertise in integrating new types of biological observations into European marine infrastructures and developing best practices to publish imaging data in international repositories. Her project management skills are crucial in various European projects, where she managed diverse groups of stakeholders in the field of marine data. Recently, Patricia has started to work as the Ocean Best Practice System (OBPS) Project Manager, where she oversees the implementation of the OBPS Project, ensuring its alignment with the GOOS - IODE work plans. Her responsibilities include developing a community-acceptable classification of practices, refining the practice submission process, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the OBPS Repository. Patricia aims to enhance the global ocean observing and data management systems by leading the implementation of best practices in marine research. She is committed to refining the Ocean Best Practice System (OBPS) to ensure it becomes a pivotal resource for the scientific global community, contributing to the development of robust, data-driven marine policies that promote the sustainable use and preservation of ocean resources.
