Adel Amer Regal (June 30, 1968 - present) is an Egyptian marine scientist and an
environmentalist. Adel graduated from the University of Helwan (Cairo, Egypt) in
1990 and went on to achieve his master's (1994) and doctorate (1999) degrees in
the field of marine chemistry and environment from the same university. In 1991
worked as a research assistant, 1999; as a lecturer at National Institute of
Oceanography and Fisheries (NIOF); in 1999. Post-Doctor in Mie University Japan
(2008-2009). Adel became Associated Professor in the marine environment in
2009. Worked in some international projects with EEAA and DANIDA for
monitoring of the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. Adel, Attended many
international training programs (EIA, EEAA-SEAM-EIMP), Climate Changes
Mitigation and Adaptation (SIDA, Sweden), Ocean Governance (IOI, Malta and
recently the JICA-ISME training on CONSERVATION AND SUSTAINABLE
MANAGEMENT OF MANGROVE ECOSYSTEMS(Okinawa-Japan, 2012).He was a
trainer for the Youth Environmental group of Suez Governorate (2005-
2010).Participated in tenths of Environmental Impact Assessment studies for
marine and industrial projects, became a member of WeAdapt ( Stockholm
Environment Institute, since 2011), AWARENET (2012) and Establishment the IOI
Alumni of Egypt (Feb. 2012). He assigned as IOI-Egypt Focal Point by March
2012.And recently, he became a member of International Society of Mangrove
Ecosystems (August 2012).
