Subject Area
Marine and Coastal Engineering
Activities
I have got a degree of MSc in Remote Sensing & GIS from Islamic Azad University, Sciences and Researches Branch and also I got my second MSc in Natural Resources engineering from International Desert Research Center(I.D.R.C), University of Tehran.
I worked in Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization in Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) from 2004 to 2016 and had experiences in application of RS/GIS in coastal zone such as satellite image processing, shoreline and landuse/landform change detection, Decision Support System (DSS).
At present, I am PhD candidate in Marine Affairs at Xiamen University, China. My research focuses on application of RS/GIS in coastal area particularly Land Use/Cover Changes (LUCC) modeling.

Comment(s)
Iran is a developing country with more than
5600 Kilometers coastline which connected to Caspian Sea in the north and
Persian Gulf-Oman Sea in the south. According to the different environment of
Iranian Coastal Zones, this country has variously challenges in its coast. As a
coastal country Iran urgently need to train considerable number of proficient manpower
in order to solve these problems to achieve Sustainable Development in coastal
areas through Integrated Coastal Zone Management. To reach this end, Ports Maritime
Organization (PMO) as the authority of Marine Affairs and Coastal Zone Management,
has perform Iran's ICZM Plan since 2002.
With fortunate enough, I have worked at PMO in
this project as an expert of RS/GIS from 2003 and now I am trying to complete my
project as a PhD candidate in Marine affairs at Xiamen University, China. Hopefully
OceanExpert
could create opportunities for me to share my experiences with other experts in
this regard and help me to learn from them.
