Activities
Since 2010, I was conducting researches on palynology, sedimentology, paleoenvironment in Indonesia which can be assessed by proxy analyzes on sediments deposited such as pollen assemblages. My theses research is “Reconstruction of Holocene climate change based on palynomorphs fossil in marine sediments of Tarakan sub-basin, North Kalimantan”. The Tarakan sub-basin is located in Northern Makassar Strait, an area of significant climatological interest. The climate of the region is dominated by the monsoon circulation and the migration of the Inter-tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). In addition, the site is also influenced by Indonesian Through Flow (ITF). In my last research, I extended my interests in environmental changes due to ancient tsunamis (Paleotsunami). Through case studies of Southern Java (Pacitan & Cilacap), I assessed the ecosystems rate of change and plant diversity pattern and their links to paleotsunami in order to provide an historical perspective on the future scenarios of change at the landscape level through pollen and spores records.
