The Caribbean Tsunami Information Centre (CTIC)is a Government of Barbados-UNESCO/IOC partnership initiative in the framework of the Intergovernmental Coordinating Group for the Tsunami and Other Coastal Hazards Warning System for the Caribbean and Adjacent Regions. Since the formal establishment of the CTIC on 02 September, 2013, the Centre has reaped success in building strategic alliances as well as providing tsunami public awareness and education materials and capacity-building support for the region. With the kind support of the European Commission Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), the CTIC is currently implementing its flagship Project - Strengthening Capacities of Early Warning and Response for Tsunamis and Other Coastal Hazards in the Caribbean over the period 2018 - 2020. In the execution of activities, CTIC continues to work closely with regional and national stakeholders and the International Tsunami Information Center (ITIC) to encourage and implement effective tsunami warning and mitigation systems for its Member States.
