Issue tsunami warnings to Pacific and Indian Ocean nations; issue local tsunami warnings to Hawaii, San Juan, and the Virgin Islands; advise on tsunami hazards and tsunami preparedness.
Located on Ford Island on Hawai`i's island of Oahu, PTWC provides tsunami warnings for Hawai`i and most countries in the Pacific Basin as well as other U.S. interests in the Pacific outside of Alaska and the U.S. West Coast.
