I work as a master's student researcher at the Animal Biology Post-Graduate Program at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (PPGBAN/UFRGS). My research is on the temporal variation of trace elements on masked boobies (Sula dactylatra) reproducing on the Abrolhos Archipelago, due to the Fundão dam breakage in 2015. I analyze five contaminants (arsenic, cadmium, iron, mercury and lead) on blood and feathers of adult individuals from the colony and compare it between sexes, years (2021 forward) and seasons (reproductive or not), trying to find patterns of contamination to see how they change overtime.
