Mat has over ten years of experience within the marine archaeology sector in the UK and abroad. Notable areas of expertise include data collection and processing for archaeological interpretation, archaeological diving, team management, and client representation. Mat has been involved with and helped develop projects in the UK, EU, and US.
Mat has undertaken archaeological inspection works with ROV’s, AUV’s, and diving. He helped manage shipboard data systems and helped develop procedures for data logging and quality control.
Mat’s research focuses on machine learning and artificial intelligence for target analysis of archaeological potential in geophysical datasets. He has developed projects that have scanned, reconstructed, and analysed ships.
