I have been working on marine ecology research for several years. As part of my Ph.D. research at USM, I am using Flow Cytometry to investigate how physicochemical processes regulate heterotrophic prokaryote host dynamics and how this, in turn, regulates their mortality processes (e.g., viral lysis, and grazing) and the flow of carbon. Additionally, I have gained experience in using Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) to analyze trace elements (232Th, 231Pa) in seawater samples as part of the GEOTRACES program (https://www.geotraces.org/). My undergraduate research was all about Gelatinous Zooplankton (GZP) at the Institute of Marine Science, University of Chittagong. I've worked on the systematics and morphometric analysis of Cnidarians from the Northern Bay of Bengal. My ultimate research goal is to understand the influence of ocean physics on plankton-microbe dynamics from a biogeochemical perspective and how interactions between different microbial communities change over the predicted climate change.
