Darwin Chatla currently works at the Department of Zoology & Aquaculture, Acharya Nagarjuna University in the State of Andhra Pradesh, India. Chatla is a BSR-Fellow of the Section Ichthyology and is involved in research on the taxonomy, distribution, and evolution including phylogeny, genetic diversity, and other biological aspects of fishes.

• Participation in marine field surveys onboard the fishing resources survey vessels.
• Collection of data on fishery resources, hydrographic parameters, and carrying biological studies.
• Identification of fishery resources by using Classical & Molecular Taxonomy (DNA Barcoding).
  
• Utilizing the sequencing data for exploring molecular phylogeny, nucleotide substitution saturation, Barcode gap analysis, etc., by using the various Bioinformatic tools.
• Hands-on experience with instrumentation like HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-MS, etc.
