Activities
My professional activities can be divided in two main areas: research and education.
As a researcher I have been collecting, sampling and investigating water column and deep-sea sediments to study coccolithophores. I also have picked different specimens of foraminifera that are used to create age models and reconstruct past caracteristics of sea-surface and deep-sea conditions. I dedicate most of my research to describe coccolithophore productivity in past climates because they are one of the most abundant phytoplankton and play a fundamental role on the global carbon cycle as photosynthesisers and calcifiers.
I also teach and help kids from first to high-school grade in all subjects dedicated to science, as natural sciences, physics and chemistry, biology, physical geography, environmental management, among others.
Skills
Good team spirit, social and communication skills gained not only in scientific conferences and meetings but also in outreach activities. Amateur activities, such as singing and acting in amateur theather also increased my personal skills andconfidence while speaking to diferent audiences.
