Thresher Shark Project Indonesia is a project funded by the Conservation Leadership Program (CLP) 2018 for Asia Pacific Region. This project is the first community-based conservation project for Thresher Sharks in Indonesia. Together with my team, I initiate and set up the project in two villages in Alor Region. I deal with local government, marine and fishery office, fisheries traders, fisherman and local community to establish and run the project as community-based project. After project establishment, my role is socio-economic research coordinator designing a research plan, creating research materials including research questionnaires, interview and focus group discussion guidelines, as well as analysing quantitative and qualitative data. I am also coordinating with my team which based in Indonesia to ensure the project is running according to community-based conservation project principles. Despite building project management skills, this experience has significantly developed my communication and collaboration skills since we won the award as a team and have to deal with team work requiring a lot of long-distance communication which is very challenging. We currently collect and analyse fisheries and ecology of Thresher sharks as well as socio economic data of community within the project region.

I have expertise in Project Management, Structured Decision Making, System dynamic modelling, Spatial-Ecological modelling, Spatial Accessibility modelling, Land Suitability Analysis, Land Use / Land Cover Mapping using Remote Sensing, and Remote sensing data analysis including Lidar and Radar Data, Statistical Analysis including quantitative and qualitative data.
