Activities
Responsibilities include:
- Cruise planning and participation as co-chief scientist in the ASCA collaboration with SEAmester, South Africa's first Class Afloat in July 2019 and any other related project cruises.
- Supporting the OCG Vice-Chair of Standards and Best Practices as secretariat to the Global Ocean Observing System Best Practice Task Team.
Providing support to with the Ocean Best Practice (joint GOOS/IODE) project.
Collation of various metadatabases for publishing on SAEON's online open data platform.
- I assist with the organisation of training workshops and educational outreach activities such as camps and school visits.
- I also assist the current Chair and Secretariat of the South African Chapter of the Indian Ocean Rim Association Academic Group with organising of meetings, writing newsletter articles and other logistical activities.
