Lars H. Bergqvist has an extensive experience of maritime and military affairs. He is a Master Mariner, an Officer in The Royal Swedish Naval Reserve and a former United Nations Military Observer. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics and a Master of Science in Shipping and Maritime Studies. He is a Freeman of The Honourable Company of Master Mariners, has been elected as an Associate Fellow of The Nautical Institute (AFNI) and has qualified as a Chartered Member of The Institute of Logistics and Transports (CMILT). With a professional interest in maritime arbitration, he is Supporting Member of The London Maritime Arbitrators Association and has qualified as an Associate of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb). Captain Bergqvist is a subject matter expert in maritime security, terrorism and piracy, being a member of The Center for International Maritime Security and an Associate Member of The Corbett Centre for Maritime Policy Studies. He is certified as a Ship Security Officer/Port Facility Security Officer/Company Security Officer.
