The Caribbean Netherlands Science Institute at St Eustatius (CNSI) is a research facility that supports basic, strategic, applied, societal and policy relevant research and education in the fields of the natural sciences, life sciences, social sciences and humanities. CNSI’s mission is to realise a permanent scientific presence in the Caribbean Netherlands with research facilities (e.g. laboratories, research boat, ICT), outreach facilities (e.g. exposition space, seminar room, information centre) and accommodation for visitors.

Skills
Three years of living and working in Indonesia. Working together with Indonesian researchers and students. Educating BA and MSc students of different nationalities.
Ten years of experience in science policy. Participation in different discussion platforms with representatives of parties with conflicting interests.
Bringing together different parties and people to identify mutual priorities and to set common agendas in order to achieve mutual beneficial goals.
Ten years of experience as programme manager and coordinator. Administering subsidies, grantees and budget control. Organisation of scientific meetings and workshops and associated social programmes. Organising multidisciplinary cooperation (incl. social and natural sciences). Coordinator of the Netherlands platform of Tropical Marine Biology (AcroporaNet).
