Research Activities:
- Leader of fisheries team of FORCE project (Fisheries & aquaculture Oriented Research Capacity in Egypt), (European Union), From 2011 to 2014.
- Studying the effect of a new fishing method on the biomass of the fishes catched in the Max fish farm from October 2009 till 2010.
- Assessment and management the fisheries of the dominant species in Nozha Hydrodrome in Alexandria from 2007 till 2008.
- A member of the research team in “Nile River Fisheries Development Project” from 2005 to 2007.
- A member of the research team in “Halaieb-Shalatien Fisheries Development Project” in the Red Sea “Egypt” from 1996 to 2000.
- A member of the research team in studying “The surrounding fish farms around Lake Edko” from 1995 to 1996.
- Participate in the marine cruise to study the migration of whales and dolphins in the coastal area in front of Italy and Greece during September 1994.
- A member of the research team in “Manzalah Lake Management Project” from 1993 to 1995.
Academic activities
- Create and design identification sheets of the Eastern Mediterranean fish and mollusca species with cooperation with Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), United Nation.
- Prepare and gave a variety of lectures and seminars in fisheries and fisheries biology fields in (NIOF) and other associations.
- Participate in the Egyptian Society of Experimental Biology.
- Participate in the Arabian Society of Aquaculture.

Field of specialization:
My work is concerning on assessment the fisheries status of the different areas and creates scientific advices and recommendations to the decision makers to improve the exploitation status of these areas (including fish samples collection, taking the different measurements, analyse the data and discussion the results).
I am writing a lot of scientific reports and scientific papers. Supervising some projects (National and international), master and PhD thesis and proficiently using the various fisheries stock assessment software programs, teaching different kinds of fish biology and fisheries courses and helping in the building capacity of the fisheries society.
These kinds of work give me an experience in the assessment and management of fisheries through tropical and temperate marine and fresh water ecosystems, gaining in depth experience in the fishery biology, population dynamics, stock assessment and fisheries management studies in the Mediterranean Sea, Red sea, Egyptian lakes and River Nile.
