Activities
I recently completed a Master of Science in Integrated Management of Marine Resources and Environment with distinction (Very Good Honours). My thesis, entitled "Characterization and Monitoring of Biologically Productive Zones in the Northern Gulf of Guinea Using Remote Sensing", focused on the application of MODIS and Sentinel-3 satellite imagery to identify and monitor highly productive marine areas. My research contributes to sustainable marine resource management, marine spatial planning and ecosystem conservation through the use of Earth observation technologies and geospatial analysis. I am particularly interested in ocean observation systems, marine environmental monitoring and the application of satellite data to support evidence-based decision-making in Gulf of Guinea.
Skills
Marine remote sensing, satellite oceanography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), spatial analysis, processing and interpretation of MODIS and Sentinel-3 satellite imagery, marine environmental monitoring, biological productivity assessment, marine spatial planning, Python for data analysis, Microsoft Excel, scientific research, technical report writing, teamwork and project coordination.
Comment(s)
As an early-career marine scientist, I aspire to contribute to ocean observation, marine environmental management and sustainable development in Africa. My long-term goal is to strengthen regional capacities in marine remote sensing and Earth observation while supporting the objectives of the IOC-UNESCO and the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development through international collaboration, scientific research and capacity development.
