Subject Area
Biological Oceanography, Marine Ecology
Activities
As a Fisheries
Research Technician, I contribute to scientific areas that support sustainable
fisheries management through participating in sea (field) sampling surveys,
laboratory analysis, and data management. My work in biological oceanography
involves collecting and analyzing data on by-catch, and benthic species to
understand how oceanographic conditions influence fisheries productivity. In
the area of marine ecology, I assess catch composition, monitor species
interactions, and evaluate the effects of fishing on ecosystems and habitats.
These activities provide essential information that links environmental
processes with ecosystem dynamics to guide effective marine resource management.
Skills
Skilled Fisheries Research Technician with
experience in marine data collection, sample analysis, and fisheries
monitoring. Competent in fieldwork, data entry, and research support, with
strong knowledge in biological data collection on by catch species and benthos,
catch composition assessment, and use of scientific sampling techniques. Adapt
at working in both field and laboratory environments, ensuring accuracy,
compliance, and high-quality data for fisheries research and management.
