Hi! I am a marine microbiology, biogeochemistry, and host-symbiont researcher currently focusing on the nutrient cycling mechanisms mediated by microbes surrounding and on the surface of pelagic Sargassum seaweed. I am interested in applying field collections, manipulative experimentation, chemical and genomic analyses, and archival environmental data to determine nutrient sources and efficient superbloom management practices. Lately, I am most excited about seeking solutions for arsenic detoxification of pelagic Sargassum through bioengineering techniques.
