IOCINDIO Workshop-2 on ‘IOC and the Future of the Ocean’
Summary

The Regional Workshop on 12 October 2026, aimed at strengthening understanding of regional thematic priorities, and establishing collaborations, notably in the UN Ocean Decade context, will include a session on the ‘IOC and the Future of the Ocean’ consultation which will allow for further exchange on the Sub-Commission’s activities and will constitute the contribution from the region to the third phase of the consultation that will inform the development of the next IOC Medium Term Strategy for 2030–2037.

The workshop is organized in conjunction with the Second Intergovernmental Session of the IOC Sub-Commission for the Central Indian Ocean (IOCINDIO-2) in Bali, Indonesia. See more at https://oceanexpert.org/event/5031
