Where your help is needed: Through the start of a process to evaluate and recommend standards for both JCOMM and IODE data management activities, there is the opportunity for individual Panels in OPA to document and submit their panel standards for wider consideration. As these pass through the process and attain recommended status, they will also be referenced in a JCOMM Catalogue. Any who are interested can contact Bob Keeley ( HYPERLINK "mailto:Robert.Keeley@dfo-mpo.gc.ca" Robert.Keeley@dfo-mpo.gc.ca) or Greg Reed ( HYPERLINK "mailto:greg@metoc.gov.au" greg@metoc.gov.au) or visit HYPERLINK "http://www.oceandatastandards.org" http://www.oceandatastandards.org Members of OPA are needed to assist in the writing of the document titled An Oceanographers and Marine Meteorologists Cookbook for Submitting Data in Real Time and In Delayed Mode. This document should be completed in time for JCOMM-III (November 2009). Keeley is willing to be the editor, but individual Panels need to provide material that concerns their particular kind of data. Contact Candyce or Keeley directly. The Meta-T and ODAS activities are both managed by NMDIS, China. The focus is to complete the management of the information for both of these, and to demonstrate progress at JCOMM-III. Both of these need help from Panels of OPA to upload and maintain up to date, information on the instrumentation used to make ocean temperature observations and the platforms used. For ODAS, contact Cathy Chen ( HYPERLINK "mailto:chenjx@mail.nmdis.gov.cn" chenjx@mail.nmdis.gov.cn) and for meta-T contact Derrick Snowden ( HYPERLINK "mailto:Derrick.Snowden@noaa.gov" Derrick.Snowden@noaa.gov). A number of the BUFR templates that have come from OPA have been approved. There are sill templates for XBTs, CTDs and along track observations to be settled. DMPA has formed a task team to address this and some of your members are represented. We will be concentrating on completing the unfinished templates first, then completing a new Master Table for oceanography. A last activity will be to provide an overview of the contents of all of the templates of important to JCOMM and suggest some standardization of content. Your help will be needed to verify that the results of the task team do meet your needs. Information on other activities: The old Marine Climatology Summaries Scheme of JCOMM which managed the meteorological data coming from VOS is being revised and modernized. The management of the real-time and delayed mode data components will be brought together. This should improve the relevance of this process to JCOMM. Contact Nicky Scott ( HYPERLINK "mailto:Nicola.Scott@Metoffice.gov.uk" Nicola.Scott@Metoffice.gov.uk) for more information. JCOMM is engaged in a pilot project in support of WIGOS to make sample data collections available through the WIS. The pilot operates in cooperation with the Ocean Data Portal project of IODE and uses the software developed by the Russian Federation. Part of this activity is the updating of manuals and documents that describe data management activities. The document listed under item 2 above is one such document. Some of you have also contributed to updates to the CIMO Guide to Meteorological Instruments and Methods of Observations. Contact Greg Reed for more information. ETMC lead the organization of the CLIMAR-III meeting held 6-9 May, 2008 in Gdynia, Poland (69 participants from 19 countries (representing all but one WMO Regional Association). Among other things, the workshop recommended continuing two alternating workshop series with a third MARCDAT around 2010 and a fourth CLIMAR around 2012. =>DG 5 ŴҐzdO6O1jh6Ndh6NdCJOJQJU^JaJmH sH (h6Ndh6NdCJOJQJ^JaJmH sH +h6Ndh6Nd6CJOJQJ^JaJmH sH +h6Ndh6Nd5CJOJQJ^JaJmH sH %h6Nd5CJOJQJ^JaJmH sH h@\h6NdCJOJQJmH sH h@\h6NdCJOJQJmH sH h@\h6NdCJOJQJh@\h6NdmH sH #h@\h6Nd5CJOJQJmH sH h@\h6NdCJOJQJmH sH #$=>?vnn$$ &@#$/Ifa$gd6NdRkd$$Ifx40[(b 6@ 5)4 xaf4$$ &@#$/Ifa$gd6Ndd$ &@#$/Ifgd6Nd "#EFG[hituv:$ &@#$/Ifgd6Ndd$ &@#$/Ifgd6Nd$$ &@#$/Ifa$gd6Nd$ &@#$/Ifgd6Nd Q$a$gd6Ndukd$$Ifx\[v;( 6@ 5)4 xaQRmn VWxy`a & Fgd6Ndgd6Nd & Fgd6Nd5 6 7 R S c d 23`abz{ʳʞʞʳʞʞfʳʞʞJʳʞʞ7jh6Ndh6NdCJOJQJU^JaJmH sH 7jh6Ndh6NdCJOJQJU^JaJmH sH 7jh6Ndh6NdCJOJQJU^JaJmH sH (h6Ndh6NdCJOJQJ^JaJmH sH ,h6Ndh6Nd0JCJOJQJ^JaJmH sH 1jh6Ndh6NdCJOJQJU^JaJmH sH 7j(h6Ndh6NdCJOJQJU^JaJmH sH ʳʞʞʳʞ7jh6Ndh6NdCJOJQJU^JaJmH sH (h6Ndh6NdCJOJQJ^JaJmH sH ,h6Ndh6Nd0JCJOJQJ^JaJmH sH 1jh6Ndh6NdCJOJQJU^JaJmH sH 7jh6Ndh6NdCJOJQJU^JaJmH sH ,1h/ =!"#$% $$If!vh55b#vb#v:V x4 6@ 5)5b54 x4f4$$If!vh5555#v#v#v#v:V x 6@ 5)55554 x4DyK Robert.Keeley@dfo-mpo.gc.cayK Fmailto:Robert.Keeley@dfo-mpo.gc.caDyK greg@metoc.gov.auyK 2mailto:greg@metoc.gov.auDyK "http://www.oceandatastandards.orgyK Fhttp://www.oceandatastandards.org/DyK chenjx@mail.nmdis.gov.cnyK @mailto:chenjx@mail.nmdis.gov.cnDyK Derrick.Snowden@noaa.govyK @mailto:Derrick.Snowden@noaa.govDyK Nicola.Scott@Metoffice.gov.ukyK Jmailto:Nicola.Scott@Metoffice.gov.ukH@H >3Normal1$CJ_HaJhmH sH tH DA@D Default Paragraph FontRi@R Table Normal4 l4a (k@(No ListHH Q Balloon TextCJOJQJ^JaJ6U@6 4$ Hyperlink >*B*phTB`T 6Nd Body Text _ CJOJQJaJmH sH * z z |#$=>?v"#EFG[hituvQRmnV W x y `a0u0u0u0u0u0u0u0u0u0u0u0u0u0u0u0u0u0u0Pŀ0Pŀ0u0u0u0u0੠0u00ੀ00p0ੀ0ੀ00ੀ0p0ੀ00`0u0u0u0u 0u0u 0u0u 0u0u 0u0p0p0p 0p0p 0p0p 0p0p#$=>?v"#EFG[hituvQRmnV W x y `a0Pŀ0Pŀ0Pŀ0Pŀ0PŠ0Pŀ0Pŀ0Pŀ0PŠ0PŠ0Pŀ0Pŀ0Pŀ0Pŀ0Pŀ0PŠ0PŠ0PŠ0Pŀ0Pŀ0Pŀ0Pŀ0Pŀ0Pŀ0PŠ0PŠ0P0P0P0P0P0P 0P0P 0P0P 0P0P 0P0菀0菀0菀0菀0菀0菀0菀0菀0菏5 Q6Rc2az XXXXXXbzZ ^ ` d 20TE#05) t?Dx;3OH p:ŴpW{F:].:{i,Qh ^`hH.h ^`hH.h pLp^p`LhH.h @ @ ^@ `hH.h ^`hH.h L^`LhH.h ^`hH.h ^`hH.h PLP^P`LhH.hhh^h`OJQJo(hHh88^8`OJQJ^Jo(hHoh^`OJQJo(hHh ^ `OJQJo(hHh ^ `OJQJ^Jo(hHohxx^x`OJQJo(hHhHH^H`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHoh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHohpp^p`OJQJo(hHh@ @ ^@ `OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHoh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJo(hHh^`OJQJ^Jo(hHohPP^P`OJQJo(hHh hh^h`o(hH. 88^8`hH.
